ABOUT LINDA HAMILTON
Hi, I’m Linda.
A story of courage, healing, and becoming.

I am a wife, a mother, a survivor, and now an author.
For many years, I carried the effects of childhood trauma into my teenage years and adult life. Those experiences shaped the way I saw myself, the way I formed relationships, and the way I responded to fear, trust, and love.
Writing Caterpillars Aren’t Ugly became part of my healing. It gave me the space to revisit painful memories, understand the behaviours I had developed to survive, and finally speak openly about the parts of my life I had hidden for decades.
My story is deeply personal, but I share it in the hope that someone else may feel less alone.
MY JOURNEY

The Journey That Shaped Me
01 — Survival
As a child, I learned to survive by staying silent, adapting, and carrying experiences no child should ever have to endure.
02 — Understanding
As an adult, I began recognising how trauma had shaped my relationships, reactions, fears, and sense of self.
03 — Healing
Through counselling training, trusted support, self-reflection, faith, and love, I began facing the past rather than running from it.
04 — Purpose
Writing my story became a way to reclaim my voice and encourage others to believe that healing and transformation are possible.
WHY I WRITE
Turning Pain Into Purpose
I never imagined I would write a book about the most painful parts of my life.
For years, those memories carried shame, fear, and silence. But over time, I began to understand that telling the truth was not something to fear. It was part of becoming free.
I write because there are people who still feel responsible for what happened to them.
I write to remind every reader that the past may shape us—but it does not have to define who we become.
